"Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

WELCOME TO THE NEW WEEK!!! :-)



Let us carry these words of the "Good News" as we journey our week:

"When Jesus finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him,
the Son of Humanity will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the
nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as
a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats
to his left.

"Then the Sovereign will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are
blessed by my Creator! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been
ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.'

"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Jesus, what are you talking about?
When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink?
And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the
Sovereign will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of
these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me-you did it to
me.'

WELCOME TO THE NEW WEEK!!! :-)



Let us carry these powerful words of affirmation as we journey our week:

So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God's chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We're sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.

None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I'm absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
